Primary Focus and Experience: Riley joined the firm as an Associate in 2019. He specializes in commercial and residential real estate transactions, wills, estate planning and probate administration, and general corporate and small business representation and transactions.
Before joining Samford & Denson, Riley worked for Maynard Cooper & Gale, a 200+ lawyer firm based in Birmingham, as a member of the firm’s commercial real estate practice group. His practice focused on the representation of buyers, sellers, developers, landlords and tenants in all types of real estate matters in markets throughout the United States. While at Maynard Cooper, Riley helped represent a financial institution in the disposition of approximately $20 million of real estate assets.

Riley received his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and served as Managing Editor of the Cumberland Law Review. During his time at Cumberland, Riley served as an Abraham Caruthers Legal Research and Writing Fellow and earned the “Scholar of Merit” award for Real Property, Business Organizations, Employment Discrimination, Constitutional Law II, and Environmental Law. Riley earned his B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from Auburn University. While at Auburn, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and served the chapter in numerous capacities, including President and Recruitment Chairman.

Personal: Outside of work, Riley enjoys cheering for the Auburn Tigers, cooking (especially on his Big Green Egg), and spending time with his wife, Kendall, and their dog, Turner. Riley and Kendall attend Auburn Church of Christ.
